ABOUT

As a licensed Montana architect, Cassandra believes that it’s not all about being an expert in a particular building type; it’s having the ability to coordinate information into a desired outcome that makes one successful and makes a project’s purpose meaningful.

Working on an old log home with her family, Cassandra grew up with the idea that old homes and buildings could be renewed, and in fact, should be if at all possible. Perhaps this renewal is in a new form or a new purpose. Regardless, there is something to be said about keeping and preserving our surrounding history and giving it new life. Alongside preserving our buildings for generations to come, is the thought that we also need to preserve our outside natural environment for continued enjoyment.

After graduating from the University of Kansas School of Architecture and Urban Design, Cassandra worked for large international firms and small firms alike. Being part of the project team for Mile High Stadium, independently performing building condition assessments on the Kansas turnpike, and designing small park structures, all early in her career, opened Cassandra up to the variabilities her chosen profession could present. Throughout the years, this variety of professional experience has given Cassandra the skills needed to design and coordinate projects of all types and sizes.

Cassandra has spent over half of her career in the state of Montana, finding her way to the Gallatin Valley a decade ago, where she now focuses on creating functional dream spaces for her clients and living her best dreams along with them. Living in the Gallatin Valley, Cassandra sees firsthand how our built environment affects the people and nature surrounding us.

Phog Architecture was named with the philosophy that the space surrounding our buildings is just as important as the buildings themselves. Fog fills this interstitial space in nature between our built environments. Now you may ask, why the strange spelling? Well, let’s just say Cassandra is a Kansas Jayhawk at heart!
